In the English translation of the recipe, have you incorrectly translated парааминодиэтиланилинсульфат with “N,N-diethyl-n-phenylenediamine sulfate”?
Shouldn’t it be N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine sulfate?

Yes, you are absolutely right — my translation is incorrect. Latin sign “p” in Cyrillic is transliterated as “n” in Latin alphabet, so that was probably the reason.
